The Moment I Got Extra Stuffed with Chocolate Cake
Birthday Special #02 ;-)
My birthday special #01 :-)
It's half past midnight. The date is June 22.
This is the first upload in my own new year.
I have never stopped to see the platforms
from this POV at Keio Shinjuku Station before.
I didn't think much when I shot this,
but now I think it the best for the first upload.
Life is like a journey!
I Hate Rain
The rain has prevented me from going out.
Felix the Cat looks happy in the frame,
but I am not. I know there's no point in
repeating "I hate rain" on every post I make :-(
On one or two occasions,
my younger days are fondly remembered.
A piano recital my son joined was held yesterday
at a beautiful hall in Okamoto, Setagaya.
This is a small coffee table I found in the entrance hall.
My son was seriously rehearsing
piano songs for the group recital later.
In the same room, I was fascinated by the lights
created by the stained glass windows,
and staring at the floor from this POV ;-P
One of the floors in the shopping building in Daiba, Tokyo,
has corners and shops where you can enjoy
the atmosphere of 1960's Tokyo.
The place is not a big thing as a whole,
but I like the objects like the ones shown in this image.
What track is it? I have no idea.
Is it for rollerskaters, or bikers? May be for both.
Some parks in Tokyo have this kind of tracks,
but obviously people has stopped using it properly for a long time.
It kind of looks like a monument from 60's or 70's.
It's hard to find a nice place to shoot
in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo on a Friday night,
because young people are everywhere.
But once you are off the main streets,
you will be able to find nice places like this.
The Shinkansen bullet train vs. the Red Pony
I bet the pony will win the fight.
I love sunny days, they love rainy days.
They are some of the children
who were almost diving into the puddle
in the previous shot.
Heavy rain hit Tokyo last night,
and it left a huge puddle at a park nearby.
Small children saw it, got excited,
and were almost diving into the puddle ;-)
Why have they plant the flowers in a circle?
The circle looks like an eye which scares away birds.
. . . Oh, I am just kidding. Sorry about that.
Shot on the way home from the police station nearby.
I renewed my driver's lisence. Now mine has become a gold lisence!
I love small cars!
I know it isn't comfortable to sit in,
but I like the curves on its body.

The Sun on a Cloudy/Rainy Day
The weather is not nice today. . .
But these flowers have added some brightness to the day.
I thought those flowers were kerrias which I had often seen as a kid,
but they were hypericums actually, or so told a friend of mine.
I also didn't know they produce seeds/fruits this way.
Taken at an Indian restaurant in 明大前 (Meidaimae).
It's a new restaurant, and I love cheese naan they serve.
The rainbow circle was cast from the DVD discs on the shelf.
I also like the Bollywood movies they are always playing.
Taken at an Italian restaurant in 下北沢 (Shimokitazawa).
This is a small milk server, and kind of like the flowers on its body.
They built the expressway mostly over the rivers, canals, streets.
When the land is wide the expressway is wide.
When narrow, it is also narrow.
I love Shuto Expressway.
It runs throughout Tokyo metropolitan!
But mind you, I love to shoot but I don't want to live near it.
木場 -- Kiba, the Lunber Storage--
The water in the canals was no as clear as I had expected,
but I might want to live close to the water.
Koto-ku, the eastern area of Tokyo, has many canals.
They were used to carry lumber from the storages until 1969,
when 新木場, the new lumber storage area was built.
Kiba had become too far away from the sea because of the landfill by then.

I checked again how hydrangea flowers look from behind.
What I saw today was beautiful deep pink.

Another shot of the blue star hydrangea.

Blue Stars
In someone's photostream,
I saw hydrangea whose flowers look like stars.
I found a look-alike near the office!
Could you raise your hand if you have shot the same kind?
Sorry, I couldn't find it again. . .
I don't think they can enjoy the sun all day there.
But they can enjoy the lights from the shops,
and the cars on the street at night.
I am not sure if they enjoy them, though.
No one seems to proceed into this dark alley. . .
Quite interesting to have lunch in a karaoke booth, isn't it?

OK, this time, a friend of mine let me know
the name of this flower before uploading the image ;-)
I was so jealous of those who was able to play baseball on weekdays ;-(
The building seen in the distance was Seitoku Memorial Museum
which was founded in 1926. Meiji-Jingu-Gaien Park was built mainly for this building.

None of my friends on flickr visited my photos
or photostream for more than eight hours yesterday.
I was so worried if I did something wrong. . .
One of my friends here pointed out that I had vanished.
What happened??
This place is open 24 hours a day as you know ;-)
On Mondays, everyone thinks about
getting away from their jobs, schools,
and other weekday routines. No?
This can be a series.
It's really interesting to shoot night steets this way.
This is how I shoot.
1) Mount my camera on the mini tripod.
2) Open the legs of the tripod at 180 dgrees.
3) Place it on the console of my car.
4) Set the timer of the camera while waiting at a traffic signal.
5) The shutter is released somewhere after 15 or 30 minutes.
Star in Deep Pink
The sunlight was so strong this morning, and everything looked so vivid!
It looks that the colors and lights were beyond the capability of my camera.
And it somehow gave me the touch of the flower photos of Mika Ninagawa.
I know mine is so amateurish.

I noticed the center part of the flower looks like a colorful star!

ビスコ -- Bisco
Bisco is a brand name of cookies with a creamy filling.
They were, are and will be around me ;-)
See the package photo here if you have no idea what it is.
You will like the design. Very Japanese ;-)
The streets below the buildings are very busy
but this way, the scene looks very quiet.
The terrace of Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan (東京交通会館) might be
one of the best spot to shoot Shinkansen bullet trains.
The trains approaching Tokyo Station go slow around there.
I know some of you might respond to the sign of Bic Camera ;-)
The reflections of Ginza Wako Building
which is famous for the clock on top of it.
The building itself you see here is Ginza Mitsukoshi,
one of the old established department store.
永福町 -- On the Way Home
I can't wander around when it's raining hard. So. . .
永福町 (Eifuku-cho) is where I work.
The area is so peaceful comparing with Shinjuku or Shibuya.
Now I can't help shooting from the same POV
whenever I see a hydrangea.
One of my friends told me that it's like
shooting a girl in a skirt from below.
Is it?
