今回、個展に出展する作品を撮るのに、最も多く使ったのがこのレンズ。今でこそ、タムロンやキャノンから、さらに高性能のレンズが出てきたが、僕にとっての王様はこれ。14mmの超広角で都会を切り取ったときの迫力がたまらない。

そしてこの飛び出した前玉。僕はレンズに保護フィルターを付けることがないけれど、そもそもこのレンズに保護フィルターは装着できない。いつかぶつけるのではないかと、スリル満点なところがたまらない。

そして個展が終わったら、このレンズにNDフィルターを組み合わせて撮影してみることにした。とりあえずはフィルターホルダーとNDフィルター。さらにグラデーションND、反転グラデーションNDを注文。

早く朝と夕方に試してみたい。

I used this Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED most often when I took the photos for my latest exhibition. Tamron or Canon has released great wide-angle lenses this year, but to me, this is the king of king. The city view through this lens is always overwhelming.

And like this huge front lens. You can't attach a protective filter. I'm always worrying about hitting it against something hard. It's very thrilling, and I love that thrill.

I decided to get a filter holder, an ND filter, a gradation ND filter, and a reverse gradation ND filter after I finished my photo event.

I want to try the new gear as soon as possible.

Perfect Pocket for the Kindle Paperwhite / ペーパーホワイトがすっぽり収まるポケットを発見

I bought an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite the other day. Now I have at least one thing to do while I am taking photos at midnight. I also bought a nice felt case for the new device, but I soon found out that it perfectly sits in the side pocket of f-stop's Kenti shoulder bag. This is my main bag when I take a photo walk which accommodates a Nikon D810 with a lens attached on it, and two other lenses. I also know that this bag is perfect for carrying three bottles of wine by the way :)

先日、AmazonのKindle Paperwhiteを購入した。紙の本が大好きだし、本の作り手として電子に行くことに後ろめたさがあったけれども、捨てるに捨てられない本がたまっていくことに困ってきたし、さらに、これがあれば深夜の撮影時も時間つぶしができる。

Paperwhiteを買ってすぐに、ドイツ製のフェルトケースも購入したのだけれど、すぐ、僕が愛用しているバックのサイドポケットにピッタリ収まることに気がついた。バッグは僕がプロ・メンバーとしてサポートしてもらっているf-stopのKentiというショルダーバッグ。レンズをマウントしたD810と、予備のレンズ２本がすっぽり収まるショルダーバッグで、お散歩と通勤でマストになっている。

ちなみにこのバッグ、仕切りごとにワインボトルが３本すっぽり収まるので、パーティーに出向くときにも便利（笑）。

A Brand-New Shoe Cover / シューカバーを買った

D810には、なぜかホットシューカバーが付いこなかった。そうはいっても普段、三脚で風景を撮るときには、ホットシューには水準器を装着しているので、カバーはほとんど必要ない。わかっていたけれども、実物を見て欲しくなって買ってしまった。

役割は普通の黒いプラスチック版と同じでそれ以上のことはない。ただ、見た目がカッコイイ。

A shoe cover doesn't come with a new D810. I don't mind it because I usually attach an analog level because it's more accurate than the electronic level in the camera. So I know I won't need a shoe cover, but soon after I saw the real thing, I ordered one for myself. 

The function is no better than the black plastic one. It just looks cool.
