皆既月食の夜、下北沢にて / The Total Lunar Eclipse Night in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo

いつもカラオケに出かける仲間と下北沢に行った。下北は好きな街だけれども、仕事場が市ヶ谷に移ってから、夜に寄り道をするのは新宿の方が多くなった。

久しぶりの訪問。

店の入れ替わりは早く、駅前の再開発工事もかなり進んできていて、また違った顔を見ることができた気がする。

そして、この集いはずっと前に1月31日と決めていたのだが、偶然にも皆既月食の夜だった。

月食を見るか、予定通りに腹を満たすかの戦い。

後者の勝利。

ところで今、Instagramのアカウントで2012以降に撮った下北沢の写真を整理している。今、2013年まで進んだ。今はもうない風景も多く、懐かしい。

I went to Shimokitazawa, which is one of my favorite towns in Tokyo. Since workplace moved to Ichigaya, Shinjuku a couple of years ago, the frequency I visit the town has been reduced ...

It was the first visit in six months. The shops and restaurants had come and gone very quickly. The development in the station area had progressed. The faces of the town changes every time I go there. And that is why I love the town.

We chose Jaunuary 31 to gather a while back. We didn't know until a couple of days before that the day would fall on the moon eclipse night.

Should we enjoy the event or fill our stomach? The latter won.

月は見えないと思っていた。
I didn't expect to see the moon that night.

取り壊しが進む北口の駅前市場は、いよいよ２棟を残すのみ。
This was one of the last two building left in the market area.

そういえば、ここの阿波踊りは一度も見たことがない。
The poster collection of Awa Dance Festival of the town.

いつの間にか中版デジイチを手に入れていた友人。
I didn't know he had gotten a Fuji's GFX camera.

ここの両側には何ができるのだろう。
I wonder what will be constructed on the both sides.

なくなったかと思ったら、冬季休業だっただけのビアガーデン。
I thought it went out of business, but saw the notice saying it would open again in summer.

提灯が新しくなっていた。前に来たときには破れてた。
When I saw it last time, the lantern was torn. They apparently set a new one.

５、６年前に何度か撮った店の看板。文字が木製になっていた。
The restaurant's sign I captured five or six years ago. The lettering had been renewed.

「アンド」の後ろに「ー」があれば名前になったのになぁ、と友人と。
The name of the dish was so close to my friend's.

香取慎吾の誕生日だったのか。
The sign boasting a celebrity's birthday.

２人遅れてやってきた。
Two more joined us.

 

前ボケのテスト、ではない。
It's not for a foreground bokeh test.

 

前は中華料理屋さんだったところ。
This place used to be a Chinese restaurant.

さらに２人やってきた。
Two more joined.

 

「おやつ」発見。下北で２回目。
I like this Oyatsu stickers. This was the second time I found one in the city.

全員そろったので記念写真。
Now all of us were there, so ...

撮り合いはいつでも楽しい。
Shooting each other is always fun.

ピンぼけの方がいい笑顔の気がするのは、やはりピンぼけだからか。
They often give me great smiles when they are out of focus.

とっくに腹が減っていた。
We all had gotten so hungry.

ああ！月が欠け始めたーっ。演技やりすぎの人たち。
They acted out the expressions when people saw the eclipsing moon in the sky.

月食撮影会、始まり、始まり。
The show time had started.

 

50mmだとまあ遠い。
I only had a 50 mm lens. The moon was far away ...

というわけで、月もかけ始めたからもういいよね！ということで腹を満たしに店に移動したのだった。

We glimpsed the moon getting thinner and thinner. But we didn't wait until the moon totally hid in the shadow of the Earth.
