Shibuya 35 / 35mm

I took a walk with the SIGMA 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM, one of my favorite lenses. I started from Shibuya Station, walking along Route 246 to the west. I took a left turn in Ohashi, Shibuya, walking along the Megro River, stopping by at some parks to enjoy spring flowers. After I browsing through the photo book corner of Daikanyama Tsutaka Bookstore, I headed to the east, strolling through quiet neighborhood and went back to Shibuya Station.

Mt. Meguro Fuji is in the poremises of Meguro Hikawa Shrine situated along Route 246. To tell you the truth, I entered the shrine from a different entrance. I reached to the top as soon as enter the shrine, and all I had to do was going down the stairs. I showed pictures from the last to the first as if I had climbed the mountain ...

Talking a Walk from Ueno to Asakusabashi

It was a cloudy Saturday. I went to Ueno for a certain purpose, but I finished it very soon, and I realized I had nothing more to do in the area. I could go back home straight from there, but I had a camera with me, so I decided to take a walk around there.

It's easy to overlook this kind of alley in the evening.
When I was a child, I cut my leg with such a barbed wire.

I visited shopping streets that I had tried with friends in the evening. I took a right turn, and then left. I found an alley with nice atmosphere, and sometimes went back to where I passed. I gradually go south and reached Asakusabashi Station of the JR Sobu Line in the end. It was not good for a date, but perfect for me to walk alone without thinking about my daily busy life.

I'm used to signs of famous chains such as Starbucks and McDonald's, so a local sign such as that looked so good.

I went to Gallery 916 in Takebashi. The place was originally a warehouse, so the ceiling is so high and the walls are so tall. The exhibition that is being held now was using the vast space fully.

Every photo exhibited at the event was captured by the Canon EOS 5Ds. The south-American landscapes captured by the 5060 megapixel camera were just overwhelming.

Nikon D810

It was sunny in Tokyo on Sunday, but it was a little too windy. So I gave up the idea of going out to a waterfront area and walked around my neighborhood in the morning with AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR, sticking with the wide-open aperture.

Camera: Nikon D810
Settings: f/2.8. Auto-ISO, White balance: 4500K, M0.75

The bokeh it creates is much more beautiful that its predecessor provides. But with f/2.8, the focused area looks soft. So, I would take out my single focus lenses for portrait sessions.

Having said that, zoom lenses are convenient. I love the newly-added VR function to this lens. It works so well for me when I take a walk in the evening.

But ... it's so heavy. The combination of this lens and the D810 is about two kilograms. It is as heavy as the dumbbell I have at home! I need to carry two sets with my both hands or it's not well-balanced.

FYI, the photos here are all developed with the in-camera setting. I have no idea why they are in 4700K in Lightroom even though I captured all in 4500K. I thought about adjusting it but I didn't. I only tweaked the sharpness.
