Petzval Art Lensで行く地元の旅 / A Walk in a Local Towns with the Petzval Lens

なんとなく、もうちょっとPetzval Lensを使ってみたくて、散歩に出た。久しぶりに生まれ育った松原、下高井戸近辺を歩いた。

Petzvalが描く絵はゆるくて、ふんわりぼんやり。絞りリングをf/5.6とかに替えたらいいのだけれども、それではこのレンズの味が出ないから、使うのはいつもf/2.2。そうなると説明的なショットは難しくて、ピント合わせも面倒くさい。

散歩にはまったく適さないレンズだと思うけれど、たまにはいいね。

I hadn't used the Petzval Lens for a while. For a two consecutive week, I walked with the lens. This time, I walked around the town where I was born and grew up.

The picture this lens depicts is very soft and blurry. Of course, I'm able to get sharper images with narrower aperture rings, but that kills the taste of this lens, which is why I only use the f/2.2 ring. This forces me difficult times to capture explanatory shots. Also, getting the right focus taking much more time than with the other modern lenses.

It's not a perfect lens for a photo walk, but sometimes, it's worth it.

黄色い網のフェンスの向こう。f/2.2だと向こうしか見えない。
The plants were beyond a yellow net fence. The f/2.2 aperture has made the fence disappear.

アザミの花。かなり成長して大きく立派。
Thistle flowers had grown so tall on the roadside.

ジーっと待っていたのに、まったくの無視を決め込むネコ。
I kept watching the cat for a long time, but it didn't pay attention to me at all ...

東急世田谷線の線路沿い。今は手製の川柳がいろいろ貼ってあった。
It says, "The father raise their child, the mother takes a nap during the daytime, and she works as "mama" of a bar.

昼食は下高井戸の「ムンランギットカフェ」。
I enjoyed lunch at an Indonesian restaurant in the local town.

今回は普通にナシゴレンをいただく。
This is what I ate.

昼食後は世田谷線沿線に戻る。
After lunch, the walk along the railroad tracks resumed.

前に住んでいた家の前。小学校のときの通学路だった踏切から。左側の線路沿いに家があった。
I used to live on the left-hand side of the railroad.

同じ踏切から下高井戸駅方面を眺める。昔、鉄道がストライキを頻発していたころは、線路を歩いて学校から帰ってきた。
I stood in the railroad crossing which I used to take on the way to school. It was a long time ago.

線路沿いは草ぼうぼう。
Weeds had grown vigorously along the tracks.

夏の雲。Petzvalではふわふわにしか写らない。
The summer clouds. It looked so soft through the lens.

昔、ここは広いドブ川が剥き出しだった。近道して公園に行こうとして、何度か落ちたことがある。
There used to be a wide gutter here. I often fell into it as I crossed it to reach the park nearby.

ここはチョウがたくさん飛んでいる。
Butterflies were enjoying the summer season.

空の雲模様が面白かったので、松原駅から世田谷線に乗り込んで終点の三軒茶屋に向かった。目指すはキャロットタワーの展望台。行ったはいいものの、その日は多摩川の花火大会があるとかで、展望台は２時半で一旦閉まるという。着いた時間は２時15分。

え、15分しかないじゃない。

でも、実はティルトシフト・レンズも持って来ていたから、それを使いたい。15分チャレンジ開始。

I found the texture of the clouds very interesting, so I took the train and visited the observatory of a building at the last stop of the train.

When I reached there, the sign said that the observatory is closed at 2:30 due to the preparation for the firework display viewing event. It was 2:15. I had only 15 minutes!

I had brought a tilt-shift lens with me too. I wanted to use it even though I had a very limited time there.

24mmの画角で物足りなかったから、レンズを縦にシフトして数枚撮影。Lightroomでパノラマスティッチ仕上げ。
The 24mm angle was not wide enough to capture the wide sky, so I shifted the lens vertically. Later I stitched multiple shots to create this panorama.

こちらはティルトで雲以外をぼかしてみた。
I also tried tilting the lens.

せっかくだからと、PC-Eレンズで三軒茶屋を歩いてみる。
After leaving the observatory, I walked with the lens in the alleys around there.

85mmから24mmに急に替えると、視界が広くなりすぎて間の取り方にかなり戸惑う。
The angle of 24mm was so different from the one of 85mm. At first it was hard to feel the distance to the subject through the lens.

ティルトの向きをいろいろ変えて、ぼかして楽しみながら路地を歩く。
Tried tilting the lens in the alley.

僕も体にツタを巻いたら少しはすずしく感じるのかなぁ。
Would I feel cooler if I wore ivy leaves that way?

ステッカーの仰せの通り、僕はここにいる。
Yes, I was there.

飲み屋。あとで写真を見返して、「あ！だれかに凝視されていた」と一瞬びっくりした。ポスターだ。
I noticed someone was staring at me when I saw the photo later ... I was surprised but yes, it was just a poster on the window.

青空が気持ちいい。でも暑い。
The blue color made me feel good, but it was amazingly hot out there.

ここは三軒茶屋シネマの入り口だった。
It used to be the entrance of an cinema.

ドキドキ山本（笑）。いやあ、ドキドキしたいね。
Exciting Yamamoto? Hmm. I rather want someone to make me feel excited.

ここでレンズを交換。Petzvalに戻した。暑いけど、三軒茶屋から下北沢まで茶沢通りを歩いてみるか。ということで、再出発。

There, I changed the lenses, starting to use the Petzval again. It was hot and humid, but I left the town and headed for Shimokitazawa. It's about 20-minute walk. Not that bad.

あんな風にやわらかい体になりたい。って、あれは何の生き物だろう。ヘビ？
I want that flexible body. What's that creature by the way? A snake?

ヘビに続いてゴリラに会った。
Soon after the snake, I met a gorilla.

すぐその下にはゴブリンが。ゴリラはこいつを狙っているのか。
The gorilla kept its eye on this goblin underneath the building.

ゴリラやゴブリンに驚き、正義の味方も逃げまどう。
Frightened by the creatures, the superheroes for children ran away.

あまりに暑いとサボテンの肉厚な葉がジューシーでうまそうに見えてくる。
In the hot weather, the leaves of the cactus started to look juicy and delicious.

いや、こっちの方がうまそうだ。でも、食ったら所有者に追いかけられるな。
Oh, they are better than cactus. But the owner would chase after me if I picked them up.

暑いから煮物はいらない。でも、このおしながきの雰囲気は素敵。
Simmered food was the last thing I wanted to eat, but I like the atmosphere of that display.

すずしげな色合いに引かれる。
The cool atmosphere of the bar was quite tempting.

下北沢に入る前にウィンドウで自撮り。
Took a selfie just before I entered Shimokitazawa.

あ、雨が降ってきた。

そんなわけで、下北沢では写真を撮らずに散歩して帰途についた。

ところで僕はブログを書くときに、いつもまずはGoogle Photosに写真をアップする。そして、BloggerはGoogle Photosと連動しているから、そこから写真を引用するようにしている。

この日のアルバムは、Google Photosが勝手にスライドショー的な動画を作ってくれた。

It started to rain in Shimokitazawa. So I didn't take photos there and headed home :)

By the way, when i write a blog entry, I quoted photos that are on Google Photos. It's convenient to use the services owned by Google. They are connected so tightly.

The album of the photos I created that day was edited as a short movie by Google Photos. It was a fun feature.
