街歩きをしながらスナップ・ポートレートを撮るときは35mmがいい。普通に会話しながら、そのままカメラをさっと向けられる距離感がいい。
50mmのボケ感も好きなのだが、望遠になればなるほど、お互いの距離が遠くなって会話の声は次第に大きくなる。逆にそれより広角になると、間違って近づきすぎると平手打ちを食らう（まだ、食らったことはない）。
35mmだと普通に並んで歩く距離感でカメラを向けることができるから、街中でも撮りやすい。
モデルをしてくれたのは、中国の写真関連のメーカーで営業を担当していた女性。そのメーカーをほどなく退社してしまったから、もう会う機会はないかと思っていたら、７月に日本に勉強しに来た。また会うとは思わなかった。人とのつながりって面白い。
ちなみに彼女はこの後、「宿題をやらないといけない」と、僕が久しく聞いたことのなかったせりふを口にして帰って行った。懐かしい。
I like to use a 35mm lens for a portrait in the streets. The distance between a model and me is comfortable. We can have a conversation and the next moment I can take a photo of the model.
I like the bokeh that a 50mm lens creates, but the longer lens I use, the longer the distance of the photographer and the model.
I like lenses with shorter focal lengths, but I may be get a slap because I get too close to the model (I haven't had such an experience yet by the way).
By the way, I met the model here through a camera equipment manufacturer in China. She was a sales representative but left the company. So I thought I would never see her again, but she came to Japan to see me ... Oh, I lied. Sorry. She came to Japan to study in a graduate college.
Anyway, I enjoyed reunion in Shinjuku that night.
