中銀カプセルタワービルに潜入！ / Nakagin Capsule Tomer Building

住所で言えば東京・銀座。汐留のモダンなビル群の通りをはさんで向かいに、中銀カプセルタワービルはある。故・黒川紀章さんの設計により1972年に竣工した、中から見ても外からみても変わったデザインのビルは、建築好きは一礼をせずに通り過ぎることはできない（らしい）。

外から見ると見学者は一様に、積み重ねられた「ドラム式洗濯機」を連想するらしい。今回、あの窓に張り付いている様子を、誰かに外から撮ってもらいたかったが、それはかなわなかった（笑）。

見学させていただいたのは２部屋。どちらも美しいレノベーションが施されており、驚くほど狭いけれど、ちょっと住んでみたい気持ちにもなる。

21ミリの画角のレンズをもってして、部屋の入り口（つまり玄関に相当する場所）までカメラを後退させて、やっとこの写真が撮れる。ちなみにこの部屋は二重窓に改築されていた。

窓からは首都高汐留JCTから銀座に伸びる東京高速道路の高架が見えた。

２部屋目は東京高速道路と同じ高さに位置していた。こちらもきれいに改装されていた。ちなみに、一緒にいた仲間は、どうやっても写真に写り込んでしまうので、僕が撮っている間はユニットバスの中に入っていてもらった。

それにしても、何でボサボサなんだ、オレの後ろ髪。

1972年竣工で、老朽化が進んでいる。

ところで今回、カプセルの中に入ることができたのは、友人が「中銀カプセルタワービル 銀座の白い箱舟」（中銀カプセルタワービル保存・再生プロジェクト 著・ 編集）という本を出版するためのクラウドファンディングに参加したからだ（クラウドファンディングは成功裏に終了）。本は2015/10/31に発売予定）。支援した人たちの一部は、内部見学に招待されることになっており、その見学会に友人枠で入れてもらった。

この中銀カプセルタワービルは立て直すかどうか、管理組合で検討が進められているとのこと。いつまでこの姿が見られるかは、わからない。建物についてもっと知りたいと言う方は、先に述べた本を購入してみてはいかがだろうか。


The address is Ginza, Tokyo. Nakagin Tower Capsule Building is located across from the modern high-rises in Shiodobe business district in Minato Ward. It was designed by Kisho Kurokawa and completed in 1972. A lot of architecture mania come and see this architecture from all over the world.

Its exterior reminds people of a stack of washing machines. I wanted wanted someone to take a photo of me staying behind the window but that didn't come true ...

Last Saturday, I had a chance to visit two of the units/rooms in this building. It's amazingly small but beautifully renovated. If I had a chance I would love to stay in the room for a week or so. There is no kitchen and I don't think I can stay there longer myself.

The reason I had a chance to look inside of the building is that a friend of mine had backed the crowdfunding which was for publishing a book about this building (It was very successful). Some of the backers had been invited to a small tour of the building, and luckily I was invited to join it by the friend.

The management association of this building has been long considering rebuilding it, so I'm not sure until when we will be continue to see this building. If you are interested in it, why not get a copy of the book (it will be published October 31, 2015) and learn about the historical architecture as a starter.
