三軒茶屋の光と影 / The Light and Shadow in Sangenjaya, Setagaya, Tokyo

上の写真の「もも」。女の人ならこのパーツが好き。……とか、そんな話はさておき、先週末は真っ昼間に、世田谷・三軒茶屋の駅周辺を撮り歩いてきた。

僕は子どものころ、世田谷線（玉電と呼んでいた）の線路沿いに住んでいて、休みの日になると祖母と母が、僕と弟をよく三軒茶屋まで連れて行ってくれた。週末の小さな旅。思い出の詰まった街。

この日は曇りの予報に反して晴天で、コントラストの強い新鮮な風景を楽しむことができた。

When I was a small child, my family lived in a house along the Setagaya Line, which is now one the last two trams in Tokyo. My grandmother and mother often took me and my younger brother to Sangenjaya, the final station of this tram on weekends. It was a town full of my childhood memories.

I visited the town before noon last weekend and enjoyed the contrast of the sunlight and shadow in the alleys in the areas near the station.

店先の木箱に過ぎないのだが、光のおかげでとても素敵に見えた。
Even simple wooden boxes looked nice in the harsh sunlight.

煙突があると、見上げてしまう。
Every time I see this kind of chimney, I stop and look up.

すだれもなんだか素敵。
A simple blind like that looked elegant in the sunlight.

電線アート。

窓の右下にある、ジャイアン風のステッカーが気になった。
The white man-shaped sticker on the window caught my eyes.

青とオレンジの競演。
The collaboration of orange and blue.

丸いけど「三角」。
It said "triangle" even though the lantern was round.

キャロットタワーができる前は、この路地を出たところの世田谷通りの向かいに世田谷線の駅があった。
It points at the station of the Setagaya Line (世田谷線).

いつか、あの店に……。たぶん、行かない。
Someday I will pay a visit to that place. Maybe not.

向こうは５。こっちは１。決闘の結末はいかに。
Five cones versus me. Who will win the fight?

下ばかり見て歩いていた。
Most of the time, I walked looking down at the ground.

そこに立ってみて。もうちょっとこっち、いや、来すぎ。
Stand there. Yes. Um, no. Move closer. Ah, go back.

カフェでのんびり過ごすのも悪くない、かな。

軍手で「営業中」。「業」が裏返しになって見えなかった。それにしても何の店か。軍手屋？

あの狭い幅に２本立てたかった理由があるに違いない。
Why did they need two in such a narrow space?

持ち上げたら影も一緒にくっついて来るに違いない。

さて、ここまで見る人はほとんどいないだろうということで……。三軒茶屋には、実はパンケーキを食べに行ったのだ。今、「パンケーキの旅」を絶賛開催中なのである。

しかし、目当ての店は開店前に行ったにもかかわらず、すでに行列が！　というわけで、順番が来るまでの間に散歩をしたのである。

今回トライしたのは、三軒茶屋駅、国道246の南側を少し入ったとこにある「VoiVoi」というパンケーキ専門店。調子に乗ってレギュラー３段のところ、５段腹に挑戦した。

じゃーん、とiPhone写真。

この日は、この三軒茶屋の後に馬事公苑までバスで移動。そこからは砧公園、成城の東宝スタジオまでを徒歩で移動。計２万歩。満腹だったけれど、どうやら５段腹にはならずにすみそうだ。

The reason I went to Sangenjaya was to eat this pancake! It was huge and I was full. I had to walk for a long time for the rest of the day ...
