24mmで撮る銀座の隙間 / Capturing the Alleys i Ginza with a 24mm Lens

銀座の隙間を撮ったのは、昨年の秋、AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VRというレンズで撮ったのが最後。この日は銀座近くに行く用事があったので、再訪することを決めた。そして、今回は違うレンズで、銀座１丁目から７丁目までを横断しよう――そう思った。

選んだのはSIGMA 24mm f/1.4 DG HSMという広角レンズ。そういえば、このレンズでは、まだ一度も銀座の隙間を撮ったことがなかった。

24-70のように手振れ補正は効かない。カメラの設定は慎重に行う必要がある。でも、さすが単焦点レンズ。ビルのエッジの切れ味がすごい。そして、明暗の描写が美しい。

The last time I visited the alleys in Ginza area was last fall. I went there with the then-newly-bought AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR.

Last weekend, I had something to do near Ginza, so I visited the alleys, walking from Ginza 1-Chome to 7-Chome. And this time, I walked with a different lens. The lens I chose for the day was the SIGMA 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM, one of my favorite wide-angle lenses.

This lens doesn't have the anti-shake function like the 24-70 does. So I had to be very careful in the camera settings in the dark alleys. But once I set the camera settings right, everything looked beautiful through the lens. The edges of the buildings looked amazingly sharp. The light and shadow on the walls looked so real.

外面の楽しいビル。柔らかい素材だったら楽しいな、などと想像する。
The facade of this building looked interesting. I thought it would be nice if the material was so soft as a trampoline.

隙間から脱出したところ。壁の色合いがかわいい。
It was the moment I got out of an alley. The white wall and the blue letters were cute.

天気はまあまあ。でも、壁に写る青がきれい。
The weather was OK. I like the blue hue on the wall. I was in a bit wider alley.

スーパーマンかと思いきや、バットマン。共演するんだっけ？

パイオニアのこのビルは、いつ見てもインパクトが高い。ここをスケボーで走り抜けたい。
One of my favorite buildings in Ginza. I want to skateboard on its wall.

室外機天国。もっと増やしてほしい。
The heaven of the air-conditioner outdoor units. I want to see more of them!

安江の左にも店が並んでいたが、ビルが取り壊されてなくなった。
There used to be an old building packed with bars on the left hand side of this bar. 

この隙間は全面改装中。飲み屋がいくつかあった気がしたが……。
The alley was in the middle of the renovation. I hope it will be back again.

2020年のオリンピックに向けてだろうか、ビルの建て替えや改装が進んでおり、今回も、新たに進めなくなった隙間があった。その後、復活するのか、それとも立ち入り禁止になってしまうのか。気になるところだ。

During the walk, I noticed some of the alleys had been closed off because because old buildings next to them had been demolished or were in the middle of  renovation. Are the owners getting ready for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games? Are those alleys gone forever, or coming back after the constructions are finished? I don't know. All I can do is just capture the moment.
