あしかがフラワーパークの藤棚 / Wisteria flowers in the Ashikaga Flower Park

15年くらい前に足利市に取材に行ったときに、地元の人に「近所にあしかがフラワーパークっていうのがあって、藤の花がとてもきれいなんですよ」と教わった。

その後、訪れる機会もなく、行こうと思ったこともなかった。でも、機会は思いもかけずやってきた。今週末、母親が行ってみたいというので連れていったのだった。家族サービスだ。

で、藤棚を見た感想はというと、数百年も育つと、さすがに大きい。そして、いろいろな種類の藤が見られてよかった。そして日の光がギラギラで最高に暑かった。自立できない植物を無理矢理立たせているのは、ちょっとお気の毒（笑）。

When I visited Ashikaga City in Tochigi about 15 years ago, one of Ashikaga natives told me about the Ashikaga Flower Park, which has beautiful wisteria trees.

I hadn't had a chance to visit the park myself since then. I just didn't like to go all the way back to the city to see those flowers myself. But the chance came when my mother said she would like to pay a visit. So I visited the park for the first time this weekend.

Anyway, old trees looked amazing. It was nice to see various kinds of wisterias. And it was so hot. The sunlight was glaring. It was like mid-summer even in April.

藤のアイスがいちばんよかったな。
