子どものころ、オーディオ機器をそろえていたころはよく足を運んだ秋葉原も、その趣が変わってからあまり行かなくなった。だから、この街で写真を撮ることはほとんどない。
しかし先日、とある女性を撮影する機会があり、休日の真っ昼間の秋葉原に行った。
人が多いから、どうやっても背景に人が写り込むよな、写り込んだら邪魔だよな。行く前にそんなことを考えていたけれども、実際撮ってみたらそのとおりになった（笑）。そして、結構な確率で通行人は彼女に視線をやる。
人前に立つことを仕事としている彼女は、見られることに慣れているから視線が気にならない（と本人は言う）。僕は撮り始めてしまえば、ファインダーをのぞいているから何も気にならない。でも、周囲に気にしていた人はけっこういたんだろう。後で写真を見返したら、彼女に目をやる通行人が何人も写っていた。
写真はそれとは関係なく…、その日に見たもの。彼女が立っているのは、旧万世橋駅舎の基礎の上。100年の歴史の上に立っていた。
肝心のポートレートの写真は、また別の機会にご紹介したい。
I would often visit Akihabara when I was a junior high school kid. I was in to audio equipment and to buy things like an amplifier or a cassette tape recorder, I often went to one of the shops in the town. Now Akiba is kind of a different town, so I seldom pay a visit to take photos these days.
But I had to go there last weekend. I had a chance to take portrait photos of a pro model. She asked me to take photos of her in the bustling streets.
I had been worrying that passers-by would always be in the backdrop of the shots, and had thought I would hate it. When I shot photos, the results turned out as I had worried.
When we stopped and took photos, so many people looked at her (She was standing out). But she got used to such situations. And of course, I didn't mind it when I was looking at her through the view finder (I couldn't see those gazes).
The photos here had nothing to do with the portrait session. They are just the things we saw that day.
What she was standing on the basement structure of the old Manseibashi Station which was opened in 1912 and abandoned in 1946. She was standing on the history of a hundred years.
I'll post another blog for the photos from the portrait session another time.
