種類は知らない。母親は南殿桜（なでんざくら）というけれど、調べてみるとその種類は八重桜。これは違う。とはいえ京都の仁和寺から家の庭にやってきて数年。一度バッサリ切られた翌年に花を付けなかったことがあったが、今年は過去最高の数の花を付けた。
東京の対して広くもない庭に、なぜ大きく育つ桜の木を植えたのだろう。春になると一気に伸びて、今、３メートルを超える高さがある気がする…。
We had a cherry tree in the garden. It came from Kyoto a while ago. It once didn't produce any flower after it had been cut in the middle of the trunk in the previous year. So I am happy that it is producing the most number of flowers this year.
But why did my family plant such a tree in a not-so-large garden like ours. It's about three meters tall now and soon will occupy most of the garden ...
