暖かい光に包まれた桜の花 / The cherry blossoms were enveloped in the warm sunlight

前回に引き続き、西郷山公園の桜の写真を紹介したい。

実は今回、ニコンの24-70mm用に買ったフィルター径82mm用のソフトフィルターを、ステップアップリングをかませて62mm径のマクロレンズに装着して撮影をした。

使ったのはケンコーの「ブラックミスト No. 1」というフィルターで、夜に使うとシャドウ部が黒くしっかり写る、というもの。だから、夜散歩好きの僕にはこれしかない一択のソフトフィルター。

なんで「No. 1」なのか。なんで桑名正博の名曲「セクシャルバイオレットNo. 1」を彷彿とさせる名前なのか。買って以来、このフィルターを使おうと思うと、この歌が頭の中に流れる…。

それはともかく、昼間に使ってわかったことは、ソフトフィルターを使っているというよりも、40年くらい前のレンズを使っているような、ローファイ気分が味わえる。おもしろいね、これ。

Following the previous blog entry, I want to show you some more cherry blossoms photos I captured in Saigoyama Park in Meguro.

I used a soft effects filter on the 105mm macro lens that day. The filter is Kenko's Black Mist No. 1. The explanation reads that the dark section of the photos will come out black, not without haze and is good for night photos. So I have no other choice when I buy a soft effect filter. I like to shoot at night as some of you know :)

西郷山公園の桜はハチの楽園になっていた / The cherry tree in Saigoyama Park in Meguro had become bees' paradise

毎年この時期になると咲く、目黒の西郷山公園にある一本桜。昨年は見逃したので、今年はタイミングを逃さずに行ってきた。

今年の桜がいつもと違ったのは、ミツバチのパラダイスになっていたこと。今までこんなにハチがいたことはない。近くに巣ができていたのだろうか。

そんなわけでハチの写ったものだけをセレクト。虫が嫌いという方にはご迷惑をおかけします。

さて、今回持ち出したのは105mmのマクロレンズ。最近は年に数回使うだけになってしまった（そのほとんどは家の庭という）。

There was a cherry tree in Saigoyama Park in Megoru, which blooms at this time of year. I missed it last year, so I went there when the flowers were blooming.

When I arrived at the tree, I noticed there was one thing different from the past. A lot of bees were flying around the tree and enjoying its nectar. I hadn't seen such number of bees there before, so I suspected there was a honeycomb near the tree.

So I have selected the photos in which bees are having good time :)

I brought a 105mm macro lens with me. I only use it several times in a year, and in most of the cases I used it in my garden ...

ソフトフィルター越しの新宿三丁目 / Views of Shinjuku through a soft effects filter

特に予定のない金曜日。新宿三丁目で電車を下りて、新宿まで歩いた。新調したフィルターをレンズに付けていたので、夜の散歩で撮ったらどんなだろうかと、１、２枚試写したかったのだ。

で、どんな感じになったかというと、こんな感じ。ライティングのツールも手に入れたから、ちょっと誰かに協力してもらって、夜間肖像写真を試してみたい。

It was a Friday night. I didn't have any plan. So I got out of the train at Shinjuku 3-Chome Station and walked to Shinjuku. I had mounted a soft effects filter on the lens, so I tried it in the evening street and saw how things looked like.

And, it looked like this photo. I had also bought a new lighting toy some time ago so I want to take some portraits in the night street.

変わりゆく景色 / A Changing View

One of the most part of Metropolitan Expressway routes were is being replaced. I took photos right at this spot a couple of years ago, but the view has changed so much.

京浜運河沿い、首都高速１号羽田線の八潮の辺りは、高架の掛け替えの真っ最中だ。上り車線がいつのまにか一段高いところを走っていた。２、３年前によく撮っていた場所だけれど、そのころとは風景がだいぶ変わってしまった。

モノレールのカラーリングが前と違うような…。

ほら、違う。

首都高の上り線がモノレールの軌道と同じ高さになっている！前は下の下りと同じ高さだった。

覆われている手前の連絡道も掛け替えなんだっけ？

熱海桜のメジロと遊ぶのに最適なレンズ / The best lens to play with white-eyes and Atami cherry blossoms

2月の中旬に、咲き終わりの熱海桜に群れるメジロと遊んできた。去年ここに行ったときも、桜の終わりの時期だった。一週間早く行くといいのにな。でも、目的はメジロと遊ぶことなのでよい。

こういうときに使うのはAF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VRというレンズ。新しいレンズではないけれど、フォーカスが速いくて失敗が少ない。このレンズで去年の夏まで１年、波ばかりを撮っていたけれど、そのときの設定はf値開放、シャッタースピードは1/2500秒でISOオートだった。

メジロの場合、f値開放は変わらないけれど、波ほど絶え間なく移動し続けるものでもないので、シャッタースピードは1/1000秒でISOオートとした。

露出はスポット測光。とはいえメジロさんは、目が黒くて目の周りが真っ白なので、なかなかどうして、狙いづらい。

ISOの上限設定は6400にしてみた。日の当たる場所から日陰まで、ISOがどこまで振れるか試してみたところ、日陰でISO 6400に突き当たった。それ以外は640から3000くらい。

後で等倍で見たところでは3000くらいまでなら毛並みのディテールがちゃんと残る。とはいえ6400でもほとんど問題ない。

お気に入りは最初の逆光で産毛が輝くメジロ。ちょっと光が被ったけれど、そして、桜は咲き終わりだけれど、それでもいい。

I went to Atami in Shizuoka and played with birds named Mejiro, Japanese white-eyes. I was one week late for Atami cherry blossoms' peak but it was OK. What I want to do was play with the birds, not to enjoy the pink flowers.

うちにはミニチュアダックスがいて、よくあごのところをマッサージしてやるのだけれど、ああ、メジロのあの黄色いところをもふもふしたい！

ダゲレオタイプ・アクロマートで三軒茶屋の三角地帯を（ちょっとだけ）歩いた / Took a walk in the triangle area in Sangenjaya with the Daguerreotype Achromat 64/2.9 for a short while

東急世田谷線に沿って散歩をすると、三軒茶屋のこのあたりがゴールになることが多い。

この日は世田谷線散歩はしなかったけれど、三軒茶屋で友人と会ったので、ついでに真っ昼間に営業前の飲み屋街に進入した。

友人によると、この一帯は再開発が決まって、近い将来なくなってしまうらしい。

僕自身は飲み屋街に入り浸る人間でもないから、おセンチになくなってほしくないとか言うつもりもない。でも、三軒茶屋で唯一、写真散歩をして楽しいエリアだったので、なくなってほしくないな。

あ、言ってしまった。

When I take a walk along the Tokyu Setagaya Line, I end up in this bar and restaurant area.

I didn't take a walk along the line that day, but I met up with a friend of mine in Sangenjaya, so I strolled around the alleys during the day, well before the business hours of the tenants.

My friend told me that this area would be torn down for development.

I'm not a kind of guy who frequents a small bar in this kind of area, so I won't say I will miss it. But this is the only neighborhood in the town where walking around with a camera is really fun. I will miss it if it's gone.

Oh, I said it.

フィルターワークで捉えた霧の朝 / A Sunrise in the Fog Captured with ND Filters

もう半年以上前の朝だ。

この日は午前１時に家を出て、海辺の夜明けの星空を撮ろうと鹿島の下津海岸というところに行った。それまでいい具合に晴れていたのに、着いたとたんにあたりは霧に包まれた。

何も見えないなか、日が昇るまでの数時間を波打ち際、もしくは波の中で待つ。孤独だけれど貴重な経験をした朝だったと思う。

It was a morning more than a half year ago.

I left home at around one in the morning. I wanted to capture the starry sky and the morning light in one frame. When I left home, the sky looked so clear. But as soon as I arrived at the beach (Shimotsu Beach in Kashima, Ibaraki Prefecture), the atmosphere started to be enveloped in the fog.

I didn't see things so well around me. I just waited for the sunrise at the seashore or in the coming waves. I felt lonely but it was an invaluable experience.

月を撮ったのか何を撮ったのか。不思議な空。
Did I capture the moon or anything else? The atmosphere was so dreamy.

日の出の時間を過ぎた。ビーナスベルトが西の空に見え始めた。
It was well past the time of sunrise. The Venus belt appeared in the western sky.

固定したメインカメラはこの時間になって、撮るものがなくなった。
My main camera on the tripod had nothing to do at the time.

霧の向こうに風車が見えてきた。
The windmills emerged behind the thick fog.

いつの間にかサーファーの数が増えた。
The number of the surfers had increased before I knew it.

辺り一面が黄金に包まれ不思議な気分になった。
The golden light engulfed the beach. I felt enchanted.

では、改めて固定したメインカメラが捉えたこの日の朝を時系列で。予想しなかった朝の光景だったが、3枚目の写真が気に入って昨年の個展のメインビジュアルに選んだ。

The photos below are the ones my main camera on the tripod captured. I chose the second one as the main visual for my photo exhibition I held in September, 2017.

霧で霞んで朝日を諦めたころ。最初はフィルターなし。
I gave up capturing the sunrise because of the sky condition.

空が明るくなってきた。
The sky was getting brighter.

The sun came out suddenly. I hurried to do everything not to miss the moment.
